Meet the Photographer

Hi,

I'm Courtney "Corina," and I've been working as a freelance photographer since 2009, when—after seeing my photography (a hobby I had picked up while documenting travels and the natural landscape of our rural home)—a family friend asked me to take photos at their wedding reception.

From there, friends and family started asking me to help with small photography projects—from family photos to engagement shoots, from grade school yearbook videos to senior pics. I even did my own senior photos in 2010.

Soon after, I was invited to cover my first wedding, and the thrill of delivering photos of beautiful moments that would be cherished forever had me hooked.

I continued self-teaching through experimental photoshoots with friends, online tutorials, and photography and editing textbooks.

I had friends who helped me along the way, and internships and freelance partnerships with various businesses from newspapers to well-known photographers that taught me more than any book could.

When I started getting requests from friends of friends of friends, I knew I had grown tremendously and decided to make a website to document my new business.

Just as things were gearing up in 2015, with weddings booked and a growing clientele, I made the life-changing decision to teach abroad in Madrid. I had been itching to explore more of this world ever since my study abroad in 2013, and this seemed an opportunity I couldn't pass up. So, I paused the business and packed up for the adventure of a lifetime.

Three years of country hopping later, with a stint in Shanghai under my belt, I've settled back in Madrid, finally returning to the work I love and miss, and excited to rebuild my business here.

Huge thanks must go out to my first clients in Madrid, who took risks on a no-name photographer from the USA and helped me get back in the saddle. I can never fully express my gratitude for those first "guinea pigs" and for the original "test subjects" back home who posed and reposed, and stood patiently while I adjusted and readjusted my settings before I really understood my camera.

Your belief in me created this business. And you placing your trust in my ability to capture moments and create art that would commemorate life events with you and those you love inspired me to practice, learn, and grow.

Now, I'm excited to help new clients in whatever their needs might be—from professional growth with headshots and website development to gifts for loved ones with family photos and wedding album design.

If you have any questions or just want to reach out, I am always happy to chat, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Warmly,

Courtney Corina
